【传承】
本集主要讲述了中国机长的历史传承，作为机长这个职业，中国机长是从何时开始出现的，当时的社会环境是怎样的？中国机长们又是如何一步步成熟壮大起来的？摄制组远赴旧金山探访中国第一位机长，已经99岁高龄的陈文宽老人，听他讲述作为中国首批机长的成长环境。新中国成立后，中国机长们开始了更多的历练，在八一开航、试航拉萨、首次远航非洲、尼克松访华等一系列大事件中，中国老一辈的机长们担当了怎样的重任、经历了哪些艰难困苦、今天他们又有哪些感悟呢？本集将采访众多老机长们，听他们讲述那些惊心动魄的飞行故事。

【职责】
机长，对于那些不了解这个职业的人来说意味着什么呢？高薪、英姿飒爽还是高深莫测……在本集中，镜头深入到机长们的日常工作和生活，让观众了解那些我们仅仅在候机楼里见到过的、那些穿着整齐制服的机长们是如何开始每一次飞行任务的。狭小的驾驶舱里机长们作为一架飞机的最高指挥者，又是如何与机组协同完成一次次起落。在这个看似光鲜的职业背后，是精准严格的职业规章，是娴熟标准的驾驶技术，是应对突发事件的沉着冷静，压力与责任伴随着整个职业生涯。看完本集之后相信观众会对机长，这个令人羡慕的职业有更深一层的认识。

【锤炼】
本集主要讲述了对飞行一无所知的年轻人如何通过层层选拔进入飞行学校，之后他还要面临理论考试、飞行训练的层层选拔和淘汰，当他拿到飞行执照才可以进入航空公司。然而进入航空公司还仅仅是职业飞行生涯的开始，此时的他还是一名需要积累飞行经验的副驾驶，要想成为一名机长还要经过无数的考核和培训。即便成为一名机长，也并不是一劳永逸的事情，对于机长而言平均每三个月就会有一次大的技术考核，任何一次考核不通过都意味着机长资格的终止，而考核和检查也伴随着机长这个职业的始终。严格考核的目的只有一个就是要保证飞机的安全，保证旅客的安全。

【使命】
本集主要讲述了机长这一群体在保证航班安全的同时，还承担着很多社会责任。在大兴安岭火灾、汶川地震、紧急撤离钻井平台的石油工人、利比亚动乱中撤离中国公民……在很多历史事件中都有中国机长的身影。他们在其中担负了祖国和人民的重托，在完成一个又一个历史任务的同时，也向世界展示了中国机长的风采。

This is the final chapter of Napoleon Bonaparte’s extraordinary life. A chapter that begins with his enforced exile on the island of Elba. He busied himself building forts and bridges, winning the support of the local population and making plans for a return to France. When he did return, it was to an ecstatic welcome from his former troops and it was not long before he was reinstated as Emperor and at war once again. But there was to be no glorious ending to the tale. Instead it ended in spectacular and bloody failure in June 1815 on the famous battlefield of Waterloo. Napoleon’s old enemy the Duke of Wellington once again beat his forces and this time there was no way back. Napoleon died in exile on St. Helena just six years later, but the legend of his military genius had only just begun.

From his birth in the Corsican capital of Ajaccio in August 1769, Napoleon Bonaparte seems to have been earmarked for greatness. There was little during his early years to suggest as much however, for he came from an ordinary if well-to-do family and had a difficult schooling in France. But joining the military was the making of him and he soon discovered a remarkable gift for impressing influential people. This episode covers the all-important early years of Napoleon’s life up to his capture of Toulon in 1793 and the infamous ‘whiff of grapeshot’, when he fired upon and killed over 200 rebellious French citizens to protect the Government.
