Playful pets, fearsome fighters or deadly hunters? Millions of us have cats in our homes, yet we know very little about them. In this series, Liz Bonnin joins forces with some of the world’s top cat experts to conduct a groundbreaking scientific study. With GPS trackers and cat cameras, we follow 100 cats in three very different environments to find out what they get up to when they leave the cat flap.

We discover how our cats see, hear and smell the world with the senses of their wild ancestors, and why this could be making life difficult for them in the modern world.

Reveals the wild side of pet cats. Using GPS trackers and cat cameras, they show how these felines transform from pampered pet to purring predator as soon as they leave the cat flap. Liz Bonnin and some of the world’s top cat experts put Ozzy and Smudge under surveillance to find out who is king of the street and reveal why, no matter how hard we try, we can’t keep our cats’ hunting instincts under control.

Liz Bonnin and a team of scientists reveal the secret language of our cats, the surprising conversations they have when we are asleep, and why they meow to us but not each other. We rig a house with cameras and cat trackers to discover if four cats living under one roof all get on as well as we would like to think. And we find out why living alongside us is making life difficult for our 21st-century cats.

Matt Moneymaker, the founder of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (B.F.R.O.), and a team of the the B.F.R.O.’s top investigators travel North America and the world to search for the mysterious creature called “Bigfoot”.

The team is in Pocatello, Idaho investigating video evidence that is garnering national media attention. The video, shot by local high school students, briefly shows an unidentified creature turning away from them and walking into the forest. The team enlists the world’s leading academic expert on bigfoots to help them out, and after chatting with several other eyewitnesses from the area, they devise an unusual game plan they believe may prove the mystery of bigfoots true once and for all.

A trail camera photo of what may be a sasquatch carrying her youngling through an apple orchard draws the team of bigfoot investigators deep into Vermont. This area of the Adirondack Corridor has a rich history of sasquatch sightings and compelling accounts of recent activity, and the team is eager to search for bigfoots. The investigators narrow down the search grid to the forest surrounding a local reservoir and takes to land and water in hopes of flushing out one of these mysterious creatures.

The team is in central Oklahoma for what may be their big break. Recent physical evidence has turned up and it may actually be bigfoot DNA. The investigators interview witnesses in the area and learn that there are several reporter sightings near local waterways. The team deploys a stealth technique they believe may prove that sasquatches do indeed live just miles from Oklahoma City.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains of California are a hot spot for bigfoot activity, and the team is travelling near Fresno to investigate multiple sightings. The investigators visit with a local Native American tribe that confirms that sasquatches have inhabited the mountain region for centuries. With the reaffirmation from the Native American tribe, the team is determined to locate a sasquatch and attempts to cash in on the curiosity of these mysterious creatures by breaking out a relic from the past that they believe can prove bigfoots run wild in the Golden State.

The team is in Arizona’s Mogollon Rim to investigate sightings of what locals have described as a bigfoot. Before launching a full-on investigation, the team searches for clues that Arizona’s habitat could support these elusive creatures, and they come across what may be a training ground for juvenile sasquatches. Then, with help from a local Apache Indian tribe, the team sets out to prove bigfoots do call Arizona home.

The Finding Bigfoot team has traveled to Michigan to investigate a promising message left on the BFRO hotline. With a wealth of recent reports from this area, the team takes to the woods in one their most successful night investigations ever.

New Mexico is dubbed the “Land of Enchantment,” and the team is in the Jemez Mountains to investigate a thermal video image captured during a Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) expedition. Through the testimonials of local eyewitnesses, the team discovers that this particular bigfoot may be residing in the Valles Caldera, a National Park which hosts vast herds of elk. Forested canyons surround the park, and the team of investigators believes it’s found the perfect habitat for the world’s largest and most mysterious apex predator. In a stealthy attempt to pinpoint this elusive beast, the team takes to the friendly skies via a hot air balloon.

Reports of howls in Washington state by local Bigfoot researchers give the team a chance to use its high-tech thermal equipment to investigate.

The mayor of a small town in Louisiana calls upon the bigfoot team to investigate unusual activity in his community. To lure in these mysterious creatures, the team deploys a new baiting technique and discovers convincing evidence themselves.

The team travels to CO to investigate footage of a possible bigfoot, predating the famous Patterson-Gimlin film by five years. They narrow down their search grid and call upon the aid of a Girl Scout troop to help bait a bigfoot..

The team travels to WV to investigate photographs from a young bigfooter that may depict a sasquatch in his own backyard. The team sets out to get their own photographic proof and deploys a baiting technique not for the faint of heart.

The team meets with witnesses from the Lakota Sioux, who claim Bigfoots roam the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. After zeroing in on a hot spot, the team is granted special access to private land where they just might find the Lakota’s legendary Tall Man.

The Finding Bigfoot team journeys to the Kerinci region on the island of Sumatra in search of Indonesia’s elusive Orang Pendek, venturing into the unfamiliar jungle in hopes of proving this mythical creature is in fact real.

The team travels to the Great Smokies of TN to investigate trail camera photos that may show a sasquatch living in these mountains. After witnesses share stories, the team enlists the aid of professional hog callers to try and bait a hungry bigfoot.

The team travels to PA to meet with teenagers who may have filmed a bigfoot while riding go-karts. A packed town hall leads them to the Allegheny National Forest, where they deploy a unique search technique to try and elicit a response from a bigfoot.

The team travels to CT to investigate a video of a possible bigfoot captured by a mother recording her children at play. In one of the most populated states, they meet with locals and set up a bait trap in hopes of luring in any hungry bigfoots.

The gang travels to Oregon to investigate a possible bigfoot sighting.

Ther gang travels to Illinois.

The team takes an unprecedented trip across the globe to investigate recent eyewitness reports of yowies terrorizing locals in Australia’s Gold Coast. Yowies are mysterious creatures described as bipedal, apex predators with brown fur, and the team must use their sasquatch expertise to track down where these creatures may be. With help from local witnesses and experts, the investigators traverse deep into Australia’s jungle in hopes of proving bigfoot’s cousin down under is in fact real. (120 Minute special episode)

Go behind the scenes for a second time with the Finding Bigfoot team as they reveal more stories of their quest that never make it onto the show. Get the inside scoop on their recent trips to Indonesia and Australia; find out how the cast handles hoaxers. (This airs AFTER Indonesia’s Little Bigfoot)

The gang talk about their bigfoot experiences.

For three successful seasons of Animal Planet’s River Monsters, extreme angler Jeremy Wade has taken viewers along as he unravels freshwater fish tales of giant killers - where sometimes the fact really is stranger than the fiction! These voyages have taken him across the globe to waterways far and wide, all on an endless search for man-eating creatures that lurk below. He’s caught dozens of these elusive beasts, typically in remote jungles and unexplored lands.

When a story surfaces of a man in Bolivia who had his face ripped off by something in the water, Jeremy Wade ventures deep into the South American jungle to find out what kind of horrible monster could be capable of this. Casting his line out, he catches nothing but piranha, but his previous experiments in Season 1 proved that piranha won’t attack unless under special circumstances, so he immediately dismisses them as the culprit. But then, an interview with the doctor who performed the post-mortem on the victim reveals piranhas as the victims. Intrigued by this change in behaviour, Jeremy assumes it must be some new species. Travelling to a flooded forest, he is once again surprised to find Black Piranha, which are usually solitary hunters, engaging in very aggressive pack behaviour. Jeremy assumes these newly aggressive Black Piranha must be the culprit, until an interview with a witness reveals that it was Red Bellied Piranhas that ate the man’s face. As this goes against his previous findings on piranha behaviour, Jeremy suspects that there must be some introduced predator in the river system that is making the piranha turn to man-eating tendencies. Investigating, Jeremy finds himself once again going face to face with what is perhaps his greatest adversary.

Following tales of a massive fish in Ukraine said to have tried to drag a man to his death, Jeremy Wade heads to the rural lakes of the former Soviet Union chasing the culprit. Asking around, he learns that there is indeed a large fish in the lake, but the local name is not familiar to him. Interviewing more locals, Jeremy learns of another attack, in which a repairman was diving in a cooling pool at a nuclear power plant when his arm was ripped off by a massive fish. When he asks for the name of the power plant, Jeremy’s fears are realised: Chernobyl, home of the worst nuclear accident in history. Believing the contaminated waters to be the home to some kind of mutant monster, Jeremy travels to the abandoned and radioactive city of Pripyat to hunt down the beast. There, he finds a picture of the beast, and discovers it to be the massive Wels Catfish, a monster Jeremy has battled before. Putting himself in danger of radiation exposure, Jeremy fishes right in the shadow of the nuclear reactor and he comes face to face with a mutant river monster.

Jeremy searches for a large species of tarpon that supposedly jumps out of the water and knocks fishermen out of their boats. He is confronted with one on the first day of fishing, but has no idea what it is. He soon finds these fish to be Atlantic tarpon living in the brackish waters of Nicaragua. He then has one of his longest battles yet in a foot powered raft using a fly rod in a remote river with a 130 pound tarpon.

Jeremy arrives in Colombia’s area of the Amazon, hearing the story of a bride that was attacked by an unidentified creature. As he searches for the mystery, he faces the dense and deadly jungles, as well as Colombian rebel groups. After extensive fishing leads him to discount all present suspects, Wade makes a startling discovery - stingrays, which he previously believed struck randomly with their deadly barbs, actually aim their barbs and can become embedded in a victim’s flesh. When he learns of a similar stingray attack, Wade attempts to catch a ray big enough to have dragged the bride off into the water.

Wade learns of a series of attacks on swimmers in Lake Champlain and sets off to uncover the truth. After discovering countless fish in the lake bearing the signs of this ancient predator, he learns from a victim that the attacker is the sea lamprey. Unable to catch the fish using a rod and line, Wade offers himself as bait to test the lampreys’ abilities and then travels to the Pacific Northwest to catch lamprey by hand with a native tribe.

For more than 30 years, hardened angler Jeremy Wade has taken on the world’s most legendary river monsters but one - the Loch Ness Monster. It’s a challenge he’s been reluctant to take on … until now. Wade’s initial exploration of the loch turns up no signs of a monster, but an ancient folktale directs him to Viking legends and Iceland, where he learns of the Greenland shark, a massive species that inhabits cold, deep water. In Norway, Wade joins a fishing expedition to a deep fjord to catch one of these monstrous sharks. At the end of his punishing journey into the Arctic Circle, Wade catches a Greenland shark and concludes it could possibly have inspired the Loch Ness legend due to its lack of the signature dorsal fin most sharks possess.

In 1633, Charles I Stuart, a Catholic at heart, turned his belated royal entry in Scotland into a disaster by imposing a more ’lavish’ Anglican style on its native, staunchly austere protestant Presbyterian ‘kirk’ (church). It’s the prelude to a series of bitter, at times bloody conflicts. Key events include the 1638 the National Covenant, the 1640 war, the 1642 Scottish part in the English civil war. Similar religious strife occurred in the reigns of Charles II, James II, open Catholics in continental exile, and the protestant challenger, the Dutch usurper William of Orange, consort of Queen Mary.

Fleeing the usurper William of Orange, toppled king James II Stuart resided in Louis XIV’s grand spare palace St.Germain-des-Prés, with a Jacobite court in exile. William wanted war on Catholic France, so he granted parliament a liberal regime. Scotland was ignored, in famine because of the war and denied the English colonial trade until William Patterson founded the Royal Bank - and trading Company of Scotland, which made a quarter of the country’s sparse cash vaporize in the Panamanian Darien colony. Effectively paying off the impoverished nobles and promising religious and other freedoms enables queen Anne, succeeded to William after a fatal fall, to ‘bribe’ the Union treaty in the early 1500s.

Louis’s fleet would fail to bring the Stuarts in exile on planned invasions of Scotland, and after 13 years a long peace was signed. Impopular taxes stirred rebellion against the union anyhow, but even when dashing ‘bonnie prince Charles, heir to James III, acted upon it without waiting for the French, his initial success was wasted by a war council already near London, instead the defeat at Culloden reduced the Jacobite pretenders to specters, while the Hanoverians who succeeded to Anne established the union to last.

The 1764 Jacobite defeat at Culloden left Scotland divided and bankrupt. A Scottish diaspora throughout the colonial British empire (eg Culloden plantation on Jamaica), including Jacobite exilees, played a key part in building a rich, confident Scotland. Instead of fatal religious fanaticism, enlightened capitalist modernity was successfully adopted in science, overseas commerce, industry and society by self-made Scots, as studied by Adam Smith. Glasgow became their leading, opulent merchant port city, exploiting the colonies. Its small rich elite owning everything and wretched masses soon awoke literate protest against inequality at home and merciless slavery. Both helped sparkle the American Revolution.

1792 brought France and soon the continent its socio-political revolution, Scotland new sheep breeds which made the greedy Highland chiefs, by now London-based aristocrats, expel the farming clansmen to coastal crofts, which thrive on the new crop potatoes until the blight. Sir Walter Scott’s novels revived Scotland’s romantic feudal past now it was truly over. Hoping to stop class struggle, which failed as Radicals’s attempted revolution, Scott invented the ’tartan traditions’ for king George IV’s royal visit to Scotland. But the emancipatory ideas would still win the crucial aspiration, electoral reform.

In the 20th century, Scotland’s old industry decayed even worse then England’s. After the Great War arms effort, this meant low wages, high unemployment, dependency on British aid. Various opinions conflicted whether Scotland should rely on English solidarity, strive for full independence or accept an in-between autonomous status, known as Devolution. The last won out in the end, after the discovery of North Sea oil in the ‘Scottish’ part of UK territorial waters.

The classic cool combo consisted of 3, 4 or 5 musicians, a rhythm section with the voices supplied by horns and usually a piano. They’d begin with theme, improvise around it for several minutes and return to it. Young men with a studious air, in well cut suits and slim ties.“Documentary exploring the meaning and history of cool through the American music of the 1940s and 50s that became known as cool jazz. Cool jazz was cool for a number of reasons. It was cool music - a relaxed and poised counterpoint to the agitation of Bebop - but it also had attitude and style. It was a precursor of 1960s mod culture with its sharp suits and button down collared shirts. The film tells the story of a movement that started in the bars and clubs of New York and Los Angeles and swept across the world, introducing the key players and setting them in the context of the post-war world.
