《中国书法五千年》,是CCTV-4中文国际(亚)台蛇年新春新栏目,首播时间:2013年1月2日。央视中文国际频道五个摄制组跋涉将近十万里,远行欧美亚三大洲,走访考古遗迹和博物馆数百处,拜读有关书法文物三万余件,力图呈现中华文明核心符号体系核心价值。一部巨片,展示书法之法民族文化传承之法,社会文明绚烂呈现之法。它积淀着商周秦汉凝重雄浑,缤纷着魏晋唐宋文采风流。

《中国书法五千年》每集45分钟左右,以篆、隶、草、行、楷中国文字五大书体为主角,挖掘它们的来龙去脉,讲述它们的前世今生。

中国书法源远流长,几千年来书法的传统薪火不曾间断。在今天,书法仍然是中国文化最具特色的一种形式,人民群众对书法的喜爱也一直是不断蓬勃高涨的。中国书法在发展历程中之所以能够不间断传统,而且能够成为传统艺术的普遍形式,其中一个突出的特点就在于中国的书法从来就是和情境相交、融汇的,是在和情境的关系中来体现书法的内容的价值和书法的美学的价值。

甲骨文是现在已知成型的最早汉字系统,甲骨文对于文字形体就已经在有意识地追求某种美感,这是萌芽阶段的书法意识。甲骨文字早期的书写方法,大多是契刻,当时以刀锥为笔的书家也有精细的美感意识。后来甲骨文也开始间杂一些毛笔蘸朱墨的书写,在用笔节奏的舒缓急骤、墨法的浓淡滑涩,布局的精心细致上都可以看出那时的书法意识。在商代,与刻写在甲骨上的文字并存的还有一种铸造在青铜器上的文字,被称为金文。后代的文字学家根据甲骨文和金文的结构特征,把他们归纳为篆。

陕西宝鸡市渭河南岸有一座石鼓山,因为1300多年前这里发现了10个古代的石鼓而得名。石鼓被学者们大致推定为战国时代的秦国刻石,石鼓文是以籀文刻写的四言诗,像甲骨文金文一样,籀文也属于大篆书体,但石鼓文的字里行间已经找不出甲骨文式的象形图画痕迹,而完全是由线条组成,结体方正匀整,舒展大方,线条饱满,横平竖直,壁画粗细基本一致,严谨工整,集大篆之成,开小篆之先河,是由大篆向小篆衍变而又尚未定型的过渡性字体。在书法史上,起着承前启后的作用。秦国统一天下之后,开始推行统一文字的工作,在没有印刷术的时代,统一文字的重要方法就是统一书写方法。所以,在很大程度上说,大秦帝国是用统一书写方法的方式统一了文字。在两汉时期,篆书失去了日常使用功能,变成古体字,但篆书并没有因失去实用价值而很快消失。反倒因为古雅的特点经常被使用于更加郑重庄严的领域,最值得注意的是,后来的朝代叠经变换,篆书体却被长久保存在各朝代象征权力的官印里。在文字神权化时代产生的篆书永远定格于权力体系,似乎成了巨大的历史隐喻。流逝的岁月没有湮灭篆书独特的审美价值,直到唐代,大书法家们有不少都是篆书好手。唐代书法家中,李阳冰的篆书成就最大。大致从李阳冰中兴篆书的唐代开始,书法家们为篆书找到了一片坚固的世界,这就是纯艺术的篆刻。篆书代表人物邓石如的篆刻得力于自己出类拔萃的篆文书法,他提出了印从书出这一著名制印理论。时至晚清,篆刻领域出现了另一位代表人物吴昌硕,他将篆刻、书法、绘画浑然融汇,篆刻艺术被发展成为抒发内心深挚情感的最佳寄托,开创了篆刻艺术表现的新境界。

2010年6月3日,在北京保利春季中国艺术品专场拍卖会上,北宋著名书法家黄庭坚行书体杰作《砥柱铭》亮相,竞拍较量近70个回合,中国艺术品拍卖成交价的世界纪录首次在国内诞生,《砥柱铭》以3.9亿元落槌,加上12%的佣金,总成交价达到4.368亿元人民币,黄庭坚生前并不得到人们的认可,也非常的清贫,但是现代人们对于他的行书有着极高的敬重。行书已经是当今时代使用最为普遍的手写书体,这期节目中就为大家介绍了行书的历史形成和价值。

初唐楷书大家褚遂良的名字,因为反对唐高宗封武媚娘为皇后,而炫目地进入唐史。褚遂良的节操,一如他的楷书,格局堂正风神硬朗。 唐代的楷书家们大都具有端方正直的品格,不仅楷书可为法帖,人品也皆是楷模,唐代多为著名楷书家,在书品与人格方面相得益彰,是中国书法文化最为瑰丽的风光。

楷书到唐代已经是尽工瑾精美,之前有着千年的锤炼与完善过程,本节目从楷书的三个时**始讲述了楷书的规矩与精义。

2008年8月在北京奥运会开幕式在鸟巢体育场隆重举行,开幕式的文艺演出恢宏壮丽,中国文化元素在这个世界盛会上史诗般彰显。 值得注意的是中国的文化与书法成为演出节目的重要构成部分,文房四宝铺展古国春秋,中国文字与书法以这样宏大而美妙的方式展现出来,让世界观众耳目一新。 山村少年的灯下功课与国家文化形象的世界彰显同出一脉。

民以食为天,食以味为先。对于岳阳人而言,地处洞庭湖区得天独厚的地理条件,让湖鲜活物成为了岳阳人首选的食材,而“鲜”也自然而然成了岳阳人所孜孜以求的味觉体验。本集从每天清晨前往鱼巷子里寻“鲜”的岳阳普通市民的一顿午饭开始,展现“鲜”味在岳阳人餐桌上的特殊地位。而相比于家常的鱼鲜,“巴陵全鱼宴”则是岳阳人吃“鲜”的另一境界,不同品种的鱼,在顶级大厨手中,经过精心的烹制,将带领食客们品尝到“鲜”的极致。对于岳阳人而言,不管时节变换,“鲜”永远使餐桌上的第一味觉体验。金秋的莲子,初冬的藕,都是“鲜”味的来源,但同捕鱼一样,这种“鲜”味的获得必须付出艰苦的体力劳动。谁也不能真正把鲜味带走,能做的,只是靠近它,享用它。岳阳人懂得吃“鲜”,更懂得如何保“鲜”。每次捕鱼起网后,岳阳的渔民们都会将尚在生长期的小鱼放回湖中,大自然的慷慨也让这里的人们满怀着对自然感恩之心,懂得如何延续着这份自然馈赠带来的鲜美生活。

永州地处湘南,古老的地貌人文,孕育了独特的饮食文化。永州血鸭,历经近两百年历史的名菜,而东安子鸡,则更是长达千年。一道血鸭,一道 子鸡,让永州的湘菜得以“鸡鸭名天下,韵味古潇湘”。

永州血鸭选自永州特产的土麻鸭,在鸭肉入锅翻炒将鸭油爆出后,中途添入新鲜的鸭血 ,让鸭肉口感细腻,色浓味鲜,呈现出独特的地方风味;而东安子鸡,则是选择永州东安 县当地的土鸡或是三黄鸡,在卤水浸煮后,配以当地特产的花椒籽和手工酿制的糯米醋, 一道鸡,有“甜,酸,鲜,麻,辣”五种味道,并由于历史上曾国藩和唐生智的大力推崇 ,成为了湘菜之首。

玉楼东的湘菜大师许菊云,因为东安鸡这道菜而闻名全国,他做的东安鸡,以去骨,色 鲜而独具特色;而任职于湖南九所蓉园的湘菜大师刘志君,为国家领导人制作湘菜而闻名 ,他制作的永州血鸭,更是色香味形意俱全,堪称一绝。

永州千年前因为柳宗元一首《捕蛇者说》而闻名,其深厚的文化底蕴以及人文特色,使 其成为湘南之地的璀璨明珠,而在此地诞生的位列湘菜榜单的两道著名湘菜,既反映了永 州古地生猛鲜活的饮食风貌,也凸显了湘菜名菜注重食材以及文化的特点。

对于喜好美食的中国人而言,“有味”,往往是因迥异的地域、气候、特产条件以及饮食文化所带来的独特感受。但没有一个地方的人,像湖南常德人一样,有味,只因为一种特殊的盛装食物的器皿——钵子而生。

常德市,原本是由一个个的渔村组成。世代生活在渔船上的人们,为了克服湖区阴冷风大对饮食所带来的弊端,智慧地发明了用钵子煮菜、炊饮一体的方法。及至今日,钵子菜仍然是常德最常见也是最具特色的菜式。

节目从常德津市人清晨的一碗“炖粉”,到普通渔民午餐中的一锅“钵子鱼”,再到宴席上的“无钵不成席”以及在常德钵子菜中所保留的“鲊”——这种在中原地区已经消失的古老烹调方法,集中展现常德人以“钵子”为代表的,保存着古老“鼎食遗风”的独特饮食文化。

常德钵子菜并不追求菜肴的复杂与精美,简单的食材,简单的烹饪,剩下的交给翻腾的钵子来完成。百煮入味,暖人脾胃,围坐而食,暖人心扉,这便是钵子菜之于常德人的独特体验。对于常德人而言,有味始终是钵子带来的双重感受,之于味觉,那是滋味,之于生活,那是情趣。

怀化地处湖南的西南山区,侗族,这个占湖南少数民族人口近百分之十四的族群,就栖 居于此。相对闭塞的自然坏境,让生活在此的侗家人,千百年来,不仅沿袭着古朴的民风 ,也保留下古老的饮食习俗,而嗜酸,就是一种他们无法割舍的味道。

每年的农历十一月初一的前后三天,就是侗族人的“吃冬节”,侗家人会在节日里准备 两种食物:“素酸”和“荤酸”。

侗家姐妹们,会用自家产的萝卜和大头菜,通过特殊的腌制方法,做成酸萝卜和酸菜, 这是侗家人最普通的两道开胃菜。放了盐的淘米水,以及糯米酒都是重要的腌制佐料。而 侗家人的“腌鱼腌肉”则更是吃冬节里必不可少的荤酸食物。

在吃冬节里,侗家人用摆长桌合拢宴的方式,来欢迎远道而来的客人,里面有着各种酸 味的菜肴,除了腌鱼腌肉,酸豆角,酸藠头,酸水煮鱼都是侗家酸味的集中体现。

侗家人嗜酸,一是因为千百年来,侗族人在山里辛苦劳作,需吃耐饿的糯米食,糯米不 易消化,因此需酸味开胃;二则是因为侗族地处深山,气候潮湿,食物不易保存,腌制是 保存食物的方法,而酸味则是腌制后的味道。

节目用一对侗家母女和另外一对侗家姐妹,准备吃冬节作为视角,通过他们制作各类腌 制菜,以及一系列侗家风情民俗的展示,反应了侗不离酸的饮食风俗,也反应了在怀化西 南的大山深处,浓郁的侗家文化所展现出的,湘菜饮食大观中奇异的一脉。

娄底市新化县地处层峦叠嶂的山区,隶属雪峰山山脉,以紫鹊界近6万亩的梯田为代表,连绵起伏,溪水奔流的山区带了了丰富的农作物,也造就了当地人“靠山吃山”的饮食习俗,当地人吃的就是大山的味道。源自紫鹊界大山的竹笋和野山胡椒树枝熏出来的腊肉做成的一道竹笋炒腊肉、山泉水和农民自家池塘里养的草鱼加上当地独有的鱼香叶做成的一道水车冻鱼、农民自家种的糯米打出来的糍粑,这些朴实的食材在朴实的人们手里演变成独具大山味道的美味。

然而,由紫鹊界而来的大山的味道也影响着城市里的人们的饮食习俗,新化县向东街各式各样的粑粑、坛子菜,这种由粮食带来的丰富变化滋养着这里的人们。然而新化人离不开的另外一种味觉享受就是——“辛”味,这种因山区气候湿寒而产生的味道需求,以山里产的山胡椒提炼的油很好的诠释了这种味觉。

节目以大山的味道来讲述娄底新化人的饮食文化,没有繁复的工艺,也没有高深的技巧,娄底新化人享受的,就是大山的味道。

衡山,又名南岳,是我国五岳之一,位于湖南省衡阳市南岳区,作为中国中南部的宗教文化中心和南禅、北禅、曹洞宗和禅宗南岳、青原两系之发源地,衡阳的素食文化不仅对当地人有着深远的影响,也让前来朝拜游客彷如受到了心灵的洗涤。南岳素菜,精致清淡,富有禅意;它们既代表了当地“食斋者”们对清淡、健康饮食的孜孜追求,也代表了衡阳人在出世与入世之间的两种生活。而素菜与“仿荤菜”,形态上虽互为两极,却又都以“素”为本,精致淡雅。“素在人心”的主题,更是让节目品质显著拔高,“素”,不仅是一种菜品形态,更是一种心灵的归依与纯净。看似说菜,实则道心。

长沙是湘菜的大本营,而辣又是湘菜最主要的特色,所以全篇将以辣作为主线,湖南本土的辣椒生产量只占所需辣椒的一成,所以将以长沙人在海南种植几十万亩的辣椒园作为开场,以说明辣椒对长沙人的重要性。海南的辣椒运回长沙后,在马王堆向全市发散。烧辣椒是长沙大多饭局开场的第一道开胃菜。接下来的菜式层层递进。第一道菜传统火宫殿臭豆腐,辣椒是唯一的实体调味料,但辣椒只是少量。第二道菜,口味虾,辣椒增量,辛辣度上更进一步,也是长沙人最为追捧的口味菜。第三道菜是剁椒鱼头,又称“鸿运当头”,辣椒量进一步增加,画面充斥红色,是长沙人宴请的饭桌上不可或缺的一道菜。第四道菜,剁辣椒炒鱼翅,这是本土创新菜,将两个原本完全不搭界的剁椒与鱼翅拼凑到一起组成了一个全新的“词汇”,但起时遭到传统大师的反对,矛盾之中凸显长沙人不仅爱吃辣,性格也辣,有着辣椒的冲劲,从实际的辣转入人性的辣。此时插入湖南湘菜顶尖人物许菊云的观点,将创新二字提出来,并以其最拿手的麻辣仔鸡作为最后一道菜转入结尾。此时带入编导观点:这么爱吃辣长沙人为何对甜酒冲蛋或是一串糖油粑粑情有独钟?原因是:真正爱吃辣、懂吃辣地域的人还得学会解辣。辣后一碗甜酒冲蛋或是一串糖油粑粑,辣过瘾之后立马恢复如初。这便是长沙人的性格,火辣的性情之中带有浪漫主义色彩,匪气中带有些许理智,做菜诚如做人。

Series which tells the story of how people came to understand the natural order of the plant world, and how the quest to discover how plants grow uncovered the secret to life on the planet.

What makes plants grow is a simple enough question, but the answer turns out to be one of the most complicated and fascinating stories in science and took over 300 years to unravel. Timothy Walker, director of the Oxford University Botanic Garden, reveals how the breakthroughs of Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, Chelsea gardener Phillip Miller and English naturalist John Ray created the science of botany. Between them these quirky, temperamental characters unlocked the mysteries of the plant kingdom and they began to glimpse a world where bigger, better and stronger plants could be created. Nurseryman Thomas Fairchild created the world’s first artificial hybrid flower

  • an entirely new plant that didn’t exist in nature. Today, botanists continue the search for new flowers, better crops and improved medicines to treat life- threatening diseases.

The air we breathe, and all the food we eat, is created from water, sunlight, carbon dioxide and a few minerals. It sounds simple, but this process is one of the most fascinating and complicated in all of science, and without it there could be no life on earth. For centuries people believed that plants grew by eating soil. In the 17th century, pioneer botanists began to make the connection between the growth of a plant and the energy from the sun. They discovered how plants use water, sunlight and carbon dioxide to produce sugars

  • how, in fact, a plant grows. The process of photosynthesis is still at the heart of scientific research today, with universities across the world working hard to replicate in the lab what plants do with ruthless efficiency. Their goal is to produce a clean, limitless fuel and if they get it right it will change all our lives.

For 10,000 years or more, humans created new plant varieties for food by trial and error and a touch of serendipity. Then 150 years ago, a new era began. Pioneer botanists unlocked the patterns found in different types of plants and opened the door to a new branch of science - plant genetics. They discovered what controlled the random colours of snapdragon petals and the strange colours found in wild maize. This was vital information. Some botanists even gave their lives to protect their collection of seeds. American wheat farmer Norman Borlaug was awarded the Nobel peace prize after he bred a new strain of wheat that lifted millions of people around the world out of starvation. Today, botanists believe advances in plant genetics hold the key to feeding the world’s growing population.

Racism – A History was first broadcast on BBC Four in March 2007 to mark the bicentenary of the Slave Trade Act 1807 which abolished the slave trade in the British Empire. In a three-part documentary series, the history of racism over the last 500 years is examined in close detail, revealing some uncomfortable truths about how racist attitudes came into being and spread into popular opinion.

Though slavery had, of course, existed for many centuries dating back to ancient civilisations, the concept of racism as we understand it today really only began with the enslavement of Africans in the sixteenth century. Racism – A History reveals how it was actually the slave trade which promoted racism and not, as might easily be presumed, vice versa. Prior to this, skin colour was not in fact the defining factor in prevailing racial attitudes, as Dr. Barnor Hesse, Associate Professor of African-American Studies at Northwestern University illustrates in a discussion on the contact between the early European colonists of the New World and its indigenous peoples. The burgeoning trade in Africans, however, gave birth to the idea that different races of human beings existed, distinguished by the colour of their skin.

The first episode of Racism – A History, ‘The Colour of Money’, explores how this shift in the attitudes of the day can be largely attributed to the colonial powers’ desire to justify the slave trade. Professor James Walvin, Professor of History Emeritus at the University of York and winner of the 1975 Martin Luther King Memorial Prize for his book “Black and White: The Negro and English Society” explains, “the British don’t become slave traders and slavers because they are racist; they became racist because they use slaves for great profit in the Americas and devise a set of attitudes towards black people that justifies what they’ve done. The real engine behind the slave system is economics.” It was through this need to legitimise the exploitation of Africans for the completion of colonial projects and ultimately for profit that the notion of a hierarchy of separate human races was effectively invented; a notion which subsequently seeped into social attitudes, allowing the subjugation and dehumanisation of black Africans to continue and prosper as an ‘acceptable’ part of commerce through the centuries which followed.

In the second episode, ‘Fatal Impact’, Racism – A History looks at how, during the 19th century, the practice of classifying human beings into separate races evolved, relying on pseudo-scientific theories in order to support the belief in ‘superior’ and ‘inferior’ human races. Now discredited ‘sciences’ such as craniometry and phrenology sought to substantiate perceived racial differences and categorise black people as a discrete race more closely related to apes than Europeans. The notion that Negroes were created inferior and, as such, were naturally fitted for servitude gave racism the moral justification it needed to allow the empire builders of the day to continue their quest for new territories, imposing their rule on the ‘lesser’ breeds of human who stood in their way.

The final episode, ‘A Savage Legacy’ examines how these racist ideologies were carried forward into the twentieth century, paving the way for the atrocities and racial genocides perpetrated against Africans in the Congo under Belgian colonial rule. Mutilation and dismemberment were commonly employed as punishment against men, women and children who failed to meet their latex quotas on the vast rubber plantations there. Graphic images depict the horrific violence which sprang from racial stereotyping in this, the scene of one of the century’s greatest genocides in which an estimated 10 million Africans perished. The series concludes by bringing us up to the present day with an examination of endemic racism in America and South Africa, segregated by the Jim Crow system and Apartheid respectively, in Britain and, of course, under Nazi Germany where eugenics and the belief in a ‘master race’ resulted first in the enslavement of Jews in forced labour camps and ultimately to the systematic extermination of approximately 6 million people.

Racism – A History is a challenging and often harrowing account of the origins, development and legacy of racism and the violence which results from racist perceptions; perceptions which it asserts are still ingrained in western societies to this day. Anyone doubting the veracity of this assertion is reminded that the vast majority of the world’s wealth remains in the hands of white people in the northern hemisphere, a wealth acquired and maintained through slavery. The series has been described by academics as a ‘highly intelligent study’ and ‘a significant piece of programming whose quality of debate ensures that its message is heard’. For the sake of future generations, let’s hope that message is heeded.

The untold story of British slavery is brought out from under the carpet in The Slavery Business, a season revealing different aspects of Britain’s role in the slave trade.

Henry Lascelles was one of the most successful slave traders and sugar merchants of the 18th century, yet his life ended in tragedy. Starring Robert Pugh as Lascelles and Jack Shepherd as government inspector Robert Dinwiddie, this drama exposes an era when human beings were traded like livestock.

In 1744, Lascelles’ ambitions were challenged when government inspector Dinwiddie started investigating his financial affairs.The titanic struggle between these hugely ambitious men moved from Barbados to the coffee houses and taverns of London, culminating in a court case.

On the back of slavery, the Beckfords transformed themselves from an ordinary middle-class family into one of the richest and most flamboyant dynasties in Europe.

This drama-documentary follows their rise through the domination of the Jamaican sugar plantations. It shows how, eventually, in the 18th century, two cousins - William of Fonthill and William of Somerly - inherited the family fortune and then lost it.

Somerly headed for Jamaica to manage plantations, and became famous for writing an incredible guidebook on how to treat slaves - Remarks About The Island Of Jamaica.

His playboy cousin wrote the first Gothic novel and became embroiled in the era’s biggest sex scandal, before bankrupting himself through financial mismanagement and by building Fonthill Abbey - an enormous Gothic recreation to match his excessive personality.

Abolitionist William Wilberforce became a national hero for his work in bringing the plight of African slaves to the attention of a shocked British public, yet his role in supporting the continued enslavement of thousands is an untold story.

This drama-documentary tells the story of the 800,000 slaves across the British Empire who were not freed by the Abolition Bill, and of Wilberforce’s vociferous argument that they should remain enslaved.

In a tale of greed and morality, Wilberforce eventually changed his mind about the Empire’s slaves and became their champion.

“I used to really hate reading, because I didn’t know how to, and it just became a big pain,” says nine-year-old Abby, who is among the 2.6 million public school children who have learning differences. “They said I was stupid, so I thought I was stupid.” But after receiving the proper tutorial attention for her dyslexia, she declares, “Now, I love books.”

The HBO Family documentary I CAN’T DO THIS BUT I CAN DO THAT: A FILM FOR FAMILIES ABOUT LEARNING DIFFERENCES, an inspiring account of children with LDs who have discovered real abilities, and have learned to use their strengths to overcome their learning struggles.

Abby is one of eight students featured in I CAN’T DO THIS BUT I CAN DO THAT, which spotlights the creativity and talent that is often overlooked when students with learning differences are written off as less capable, or not given the help they need to succeed as students. The film encourages students, families and teachers to look beyond labels and discover the gifts each child possesses. As 12-year-old John says, “It’s not a learning disorder, it’s a learning difference. If people think you have a disorder, their expectations drop tremendously. I can do better than that.”

A learning difference affects how a person understands or uses language, spoken or written, and can also affect the ability to listen, think, speak, read, write, spell or do mathematical calculations. Some of the most common include dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and auditory or visual processing disorders. While children with learning difficulties may struggle in specific areas, they often have talents that outshine those learning challenges.

While these children are still grappling with the long-term realities of their learning differences, their resolve and tenacity prove they can overcome the challenges life places before them.

Director and producer Ellen Goosenberg Kent has earned four Primetime Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Children’s Program, for the HBO specials “I Have Tourette’s But Tourette’s Doesn’t Have Me,” “Happy to Be Nappy and Other Stories of Me,” “How Do You Spell God?” and “Going, Going, Almost Gone! Animals in Danger.” She has also won two Peabody Awards and numerous other honors for excellence in non-fiction television and documentary film. Goosenberg Kent also directed and produced the critically acclaimed HBO documentaries “Alive Day Memories: Home from Iraq” and “Too Hot Not to Handle,” and a film for the multi-part HBO series “Addiction.” Her other HBO credits include “Middle School Confessions,” hosted by Samuel L.
