剧情简介
After the accident with the Colombia (1 February 2003), no more space shuttles were launched. Damage to the protective tiling of the shuttle by a broken off piece of foam is the main cause of the Columbia disaster. The space shuttle disintegrated on re-entry at 60km high. After an investigation of over two years, the Discovery was the first space shuttle to return to space again. Launch took place on 26 July 2005.
Many safety improvements to the shuttle system were made by NASA, including a new design for the external fuel tank, to minimize the risks during take off of debris hitting the orbiter.
