THE FIGHTING LADY The Classic Colour Documentary The Fighting Lady focuses on action aboard a typical “flat top” on station in the pacific. There is plenty of air combat - some of the best camera footage ever - filmed as it happened. You know it is for real when the cameraman has to hit the deck. The Fighting Lady in reality was a number of U.S. aircraft carriers - USS Lexington, USS Yorktown and USS Enterprise amongst others have been identified. Ceretainly it was the Americans’ commitments to the aircraft carrier, the technical superiority of their aircraft and the skill and gallantry of Navy pilots that ensured final victory against Japan. You will go with the carrier pilots as they battle over the Pacific in their Hellcats, TD-2’s, Hell Divers, Avengers, F4F-1’s and many more aircraft. Be with them as they confront and destroy the Imperial Japanese Navy for the controol of pacific. You will hear the pilots tell their story and see the most dramatic gun camera action ever recorded by US Navy pilots in World War II.
